Ty Patterson, CHS Senior, has chosen to sign a letter of intent to join the track team at Barton County to throw the javelin. He becomes the latest Cardinal to become a Cougar, as Cheney is also sending two golfers and two softball players to Barton next year.
Patterson is a standout javelin thrower for Cheney whose top throw this season is 171’8″, which is a top ten throw in Class 3A. He finished 2nd in the CPL last year and looks to have a strong finish to this season. On the track, Ty recently tied the school record with a 200m dash time of 22.7 seconds. Ty also has been an all league football player and all league basketball player for the Cardinals.
He plans to major in Sports Management at Barton County. Joining Ty at his signing were his parents (seated) Kelly and Linda Patterson and CHS Head Track Coach Rich Simmons.
