Twietmeyer signs to be a Jayhawk

Allie Twietmeyer, CHS Senior, signed a national letter of intent on November 11th to join the Kansas University Track and Field team. Twietmeyer is a standout javelin thrower and plans to continue in that event at KU.

Allie is a highly decorated track and field athlete during her high school career at Cheney. As a freshman, the girls team finished as 3A State Runner Up. She medaled 5th in javelin, 4th in long jump and 5th in 4×100 relay. She was also the CPL champion in long jump and the 4×100 relay. During her sophomore season, the team became 3A State Champions. Allie contributed to the title with a 4th in javeiln, 7th in discus and 4th in 4×100 relay. Last season as a junior Allie was the CPL and Regional javelin champion with State finishes 3rd in javelin and 8th in discus.
While attending KU Allie plans to major in Marketing. She is joined in the picture by her parents Doug and Lisa Twietmeyer (seated) and CHS Track and Field coaches Randy Weber (left) and Rich Simmons.
