Meet Recap

The Lady Cardinals finished their 2016 golf season with a sixth place finish in the 3-1A State Tournament. The 18-hole event was held at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City. With temperatures over 100 and winds gusting up to 30 mph Cheney was able to hold their seed with a sixth place finish. Leading the way for the Lady Cardinals was senior Amy Akler (100) who was a state medalist for the second year in a row finishing in 19th place. Just outside the medals was senior Kylie Young with a score of 105. Completing the scoring for Cheney were junior Morgan Ayres (109), senior Macy Wallace (112), sophomore Emory Ast (119), and senior Lauren Reischmann (120).
The returning team members and I will miss this years senior group and we appreciated what they accomplished during their high school golf careers and meant to us as a member of the 2016 Lady Cardinals golf team.
