Summer will look different this year for Cheney High School and Cheney Middle School, but we are working to provide opportunities for kids to be involved and to follow health and safety guidelines set forth by the State, KSHSAA, and Sedgwick County.
All students participating in activities on campus this summer will need to have read this waiver, along with your parents, and complete this electronic consent form before participating on campus.
New this year from KSHSAA – Students must participate in ten workouts supervised by school coaches prior to participating in a school coach organized camp or competition. This is to assure an acclimatization process for all students to reduce risk of injury before full participation. Pay attention to how quickly
The schedule for June 1 workouts is posted here. Students fall into four categories:
- The scheduled time works well, no change needed
- The scheduled time does not work in your schedule. Contact Coach Wehrman, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Mr. Hague, email@example.com, to change spots.
- I didn’t sign up initially but I need a workout time. Contact Coach Wehrman or Mr. Hague for a spot.
- For those students that plan to run with Coach Simmons and Coach Wulf, those runs count as your workout and scheduled time is not necessary.
Workout times will change on June 8, because we can go to groups of 45. We will offer less sessions with more people per session. Workout times will change again on June 15, as we can move inside but will be limited to a group size of 28. Schedules will be posted by the middle of each week for the following week.
Individual sport workouts, team camps and competitions are an evolving schedule this summer. You should contact your head coach or Mr. Hague if you have questions about dates and times for those activities. A schedule for June is posted here Cheney Summer Activities Schedule – June 2020
Looking forward to a healthy and active summer!
