After a thrilling 1-0 errorless effort in a game 1 loss, the Cheney defense committed 7 errors in game 2 and suffered an 11-1 run rule loss. Cheney jumped out to a 1-0 lead after one half inning but it didn’t last long. After a single and 2 quick outs, Cardinal pitcher Kauy Kuhn hit Nate Adler and walked the next batter to load the bases. Connor Davis then hit a ground ball that was just out of range of 2nd baseman Noah Fullerton. The ball was misplayed by Landon Gegen and rolled to the wall scoring 3 runs. Trinity would score 5 more in the 2nd on 3 more Cheney errors. The Cardinals finished the game allowing 7 unearned runs on 7 errors. The offense was quiet on the day picking up only 7 hits and being held to 1 run. Trinity’s Caleb Kice picked up the win in game 2 allowing only 4 hits and no walks. Kuhn, who had little help from his defense, was pulled after 2 innings. The loss for Kuhn was his first loss since his sophomore season.(2017)
