Freshman Harrison Voth threw 4 strong innings in his first start of the year in leading Cheney to a win on Monday. Voth scattered 3 hits and 1 walk, 1 earned run, while striking out 5. Zac Block came on in the 5th but walked the first 2 batters and gave way to Noah Fullerton who struck out the first 2 batters he faced before giving up a well placed double to plate a run. Fullerton then got a fly ball to get out of the jam. After scoring 1 unearned run in the first inning, Cheney plated another 3 in the 2nd inning on a Harrison Voth rbi single and a 2 run homerun by Senior Dawson Winter. The Cardinals would open the game up in the 4th scoring 6 runs. It started with Dawson Winters second homerun of the game. Winter connected on a 2-0 fastball and hit a towering homerun deep into the Cheney sports complex parking lot. Cheney tacked on 5 unearned runs to put the game away.
