Kauy Kuhn threw a complete game no-hitter on Thursday but the Cheney defense couldn’t hold the shutout. Belle Plaines Tristan Warren led of the bottom of the 7th with a sharp grounder to shortstop Dawson Winter. Winters throw sailed over 1st baseman Ben Klinkermans head for a 2 base error. After a passed ball and a groundout, Belle Plaine scored their first and only run of game 2 without recording a hit. (In the previous inning (6th) Kuhn lost his perfect game on a 2 out, routine groundball that was misplayed by Cardinal 2nd baseman Noah Fullerton.) Kuhn remained laser focused and continued to paint the corners of the strike zone and closed out the no hitter by striking out the final Dragon batter. At the plate, Chayan Fox had a game breaking, 2 out, rbi single which was followed by by a walk, sb, and another 2 out hit. This one by freshman Harrison Voth. That would be more than Cheney would need as Kuhn mowed down the Belle Plaine hitters on to his 5th win of the season.
