Three weeks ago the Cheney girls golf team traveled to Hesston to play in their first eighteen hole tournament of the season. Having little confidence and not knowing what to expect the Lady Cards struggled that day to a team score of 467. Having gained some more experience and the familiarity of the course, the Lady Cards cut of over sixty strokes as they turned in a team total of 405. Juniors Halley Jones and Jalyn Turner both shot under 100 for the first time this season as they turned in scores of 97 and 99 respectfully. Close behind were freshman Kaitlyn Fowler 102, and junior Morgan Sutter 107. Sophomore Ashlynn Riggs completed the scoring with a 124.
Cheney will have another quick turn around as they play at Cherry Oaks on Monday, September 30 in Andale’s invitational
