The Lady Cards stepped up to play some larger divisions on Thursday at the Eisenhower Invitational. This was a nine-hole tournament at Tex Consolver golf course in west Wichita.
Cheney played well as they were just a few strokes above their average, but couldn’t overcome the scores posted by other area teams. Leading the was were senior Natalie Craig and sophomore Audrey Freeman who both shot 55. The were followed by sophomore Jalyn Turner (58) and senior MaKenzie Cox (61). Cheney will turn around quickly as they tee off at the Hesston golf course on Friday morning for their first 18 hole tournament. Buhler will be the host school with 12 other teams attending.
Also on Thursday the JV golf team placed third at the Kingman Invitational. They were led by sophomore Morgan Sutter and sister Hayley a freshmen, as they both shot 65. Other contributing members were freshmen Mollie Brozek 66, Alexis Lorenz 69, Braylin Ayres 72, and Ashlynn Riggs 77.
