Nerves, fatigue, after affects of homecoming? Whatever the reason the Lady Cards struggled on their home course on Tuesday, October 8th. Cheney hosted the CPL tournament that combines with the CKL to enlarge the field. It was and 18 hole tournament for the varsity and the junior varsity a nine-hole. The weather was cool and blustery for golf and Cheney struggled to find the right rhythm in their swing in the wind. Some holes went very well but lacking overall consistency made for larger scores. Jalyn Turner and Halley Jones both juniors were the posted the low team scores of 113 and 118 finishing 6th and 9th in our league standings. The were followed by freshman Kaitlyn Fowler 122, sophomores Ashlyn Riggs and Molllie Brozek both scored 127 and junior Natalie Burdick at 135. On the JV side Hayley Sutter medaled 2nd at 62 and Lauryn Becker medaled eighth at 73. Cheney will travel to Russell on Monday, October 14 for the 3A-1A KSHSAA Regional Tournament
