Cheney High School 1st 400

On Tuesday, October 2, the Lady Cardinals Golf Team earned a league championship on their home course, Cherry Oaks. Cheney was able to shoot consistent scores on the hot and windy day. Shooting 400 as a team the Lady Cardinals won the CPL side of the 18-hole tournament plus captured the combination side with the visiting Central Kansas League schools. Top medalist for Cheney was sophomore Jalyn Turner 4th (96) who was tied by senior Emory Ast 5th (96). Seniors Makenzie Cox 7th (99) and Natalie Craig 10th (109) were the other two league medalists. Sophomore Morgan Sutter was next at (124) followed by freshman Ashlynn Riggs (135)
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Hoisington on Monday, October 8th for the KSHSAA 3-1A Regional Golf Tournament. The 18-hole event will have a 10:00 tee time at the Lake Barton Golf Course in Great Bend.
